Thai film Arnold is A Model Student Closes Jakarta Film Week 2022

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf), in collaboration with the Super Eight Millimeter Foundation, successfully held Jakarta Film Week 2022. This international film festival closed with a lively celebration, along with the announcement of the six winners of the Jakarta Film Week 2022 award. .

There are six award categories competed this year. The first award was the “Jakarta Film Fund Award” which was won by Not a Cannon, by director S. Gracious Prasetyo. Then, for the “Global Feature Award” category (best international feature film award) won by Before, Now and Then (Nana), by Kamila Andini. There are also special mention for movies Huesera by Michelle Garza Cervera.

For the category “Direction Award” or (best Indonesian feature film award) won by Stealing Raden Saleh. For the “Global Short Award” (best international short film award) won by Nauha (Eve Of Eulogy).

Then, there are two new awards this year. First, the “Global Animation Award” won Tankboy by Novella Lian (Singapore) with special mention to Bro Dragon, The City Is Under Attack (Oemoem Attack) by Fajar Martha Santosa (Indonesia). Second, “Series of the Year” was won by Lost in Loveby director Yandy Laurens of Disney+ Hotstar.

This year, another new program held is the Producer’s Lab, which is a collaborative program between Jakarta Film Week and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This program is designed to enable producers to seek better production values, find suitable audiences for their films, and be highly competitive in obtaining alternative funding from local and international sources.
