(She-Hulk) 9 Easter Eggs and Interesting References Episode 9

*Spoiler Alert: This article contains a leaked story of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 9 that may annoy those of you who haven’t watched it yet.

In the previous episode, She-Hulk was enraged when a video of his disgrace was released to humiliate him at a prestigious award ceremony for lawyers. Provoked by the emotions that were deliberately created by Intelligencia, Jen as She-Hulk also damaged the screen and other properties so that this made him considered an uncontrollable ‘monster’.

Well, this ninth and final episode immediately continues the consequences of Jen’s actions who are now a Damage Control prisoner. When she looks for Emil Blonsky aka Abomination to “vent”, Jen even finds out that the members of Intelligencia, led by her ex-date, Todd, actually gathered at that place.

This episode is considered new, creative, and different from what Marvel has done before. You see, She-Hulk who does have the ability to talk to the audience really “came out” from the series to talk to Marvel creators to discuss the ending of his character’s story.

Of course, this episode slipped a lot easter eggs and interesting references in the Marvel universe. Not only that, some teaser or hints about future MCU projects were also leaked in this series.

any list easter eggs and interesting references to She-Hulk episode 9?

1. She-Hulk with serial-style clips The Incredible Hulk (1978) and the title “The Savage She-Hulk” as per the comics

Opening clip She-Hulk is a reference from the series opener The Incredible Hulk 1978 version. With a retro style and similar narrative, this opening also features a similarly made scene, frame by frame.

Not only that, She-Hulk also said the iconic line that Bruce said in his series, namely “Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.” Then, the opening scene also ends with the title “The Savage She-Hulk” which is the original nickname of She-Hulk from his first comic released in 1980.

2. Mighty Thor references in the Intelligencia club conversation scene

When Pug enters as a spy for the Intelligencia club, there is a group of men who don’t seem to like the existence of female superheroes.

They all hated the She-Hulk. However, there were also conversations of several men who called “Lady Thor”. According to them, Lady Thor is a lousy figure. Well, this reference becomes Jane Foster’s reference as the first Mighty Thor since appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).

3. She-Hulk passing through the original Disney Studio in Burbank, California

One of the She-Hulk’s most interesting skills is the ability fourth wall breaking-which allows him to interact directly with the audience. Well, this episode features She-Hulk not just talking to the audience like the previous episodes.

This time, She-Hulk even penetrated reality by ‘quitting’ from Disney+ and immediately intends to visit the creator of the series because he did not agree with the ending. This scene also features She-Hulk passing through the original Disney Studio in Burbank, California.

4. Original author of the series She-Hulk who made a cameo appearance when She-Hulk entered the series writer’s room

She-Hulk enters the writer’s room and complains about the ending, which he doesn’t agree with. In that room, there is the original author She Hulk, namely Jessica Gao.

She-Hulk finally found the high-ranking Marvel figure who turned out to be a robot, namely KEVIN This AI Robot stands for “Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus”.

Well, the “Nexus” here is of course a reference to the series Loki which does explain the existence of Nexus, namely an event that shouldn’t have happened in timeline main. KEVIN is also a reference to the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige. Interestingly, KEVIN seems to be wearing a hat that is the hallmark of Kevin Feige.

6. Theme song Black Panther which plays briefly when KEVIN says She-Hulk is too expensive and the VFX team has been working on another project

When Jen asks KEVIN many questions, the robot says that he will answer She-Hulk’s questions as long as the superhero returns to his original form as Jennifer. KEVIN also revealed that the She-Hulk figure is very “expensive” which is of course a reference from the CGI budget for this green female superhero. KEVIN also mentioned that the VFX team had “moved on” to work on another project.

At the same time, we can hear the theme song Black Panther briefly played. This is a reference that the Marvel visual effects team is actually working on the project Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which will be released in November 2022.

7. Display of various Marvel comics in the room when Jen talks to KEVIN

When discussing with KEVIN, there were a number of Marvel comics in the room. Starting from comics She-Hulk, America Chavez, Scarlett Witch, Daredevil, Ms. Marvel, Captain America, until The Incredible Hulk.
