Valorant 4.01 Patch Notes: Bug Fixes and More

Riot Games will be introducing Patch 4.01 to VALORANT today. It’s not a big update, but the developers have made a second change to Ares, the weapon that was buffed in Patch 4.0.

The machine gun buff made the weapon “feel more powerful,” and made it a more popular choice in-game.

Changes in Patch 4.01 will increase Ares’ price from 1,550 to 1,600 and increase its pitch recoil.

The way bullets spread has also been changed. In the future, it will be much more useful to use Ares while crouching.

Apart from Ares, the VALORANT developer also made changes to melee. The right-click hitbox is now 1.5 times larger and the left-click hitbox is now larger than the right-click. From now on, targets closer to the center of the tactical knife will be hit first.

Moving on from some aspects of gameplay, Riot has added a new section called Muted Word List.

There, players can type in words or sentences that they personally don’t want to see in-game. This was implemented because some players found a way to make Riot’s automatic bad word detection system toxic to others.
