How to Fix Required Dependency Error in Valorant

Despite its immense popularity, the FPS game from Riot Games, Valorant, often experiences bugs or error codes. This article will discuss how to solve the required dependency error in the game.

Since the beta version was released last September, players have often faced annoying bugs one after the other until Riot started working on them one by one.

The developer managed to remove most of the bugs and errors. But the new error code still appears.

One of the problems that many players are having is the Required Dependency error. Usually appears on the screen of players who have recently downloaded a game or updated Valorant to the latest version.

What Causes the Code Required Dependency Error?

An error appears displaying the message “We couldn’t install a required dependency”. The issue relates to the installation of games, specifically Vanguard.

Vanguard is a kernel-level anti-cheat for games and is also the first thing a PC needs to run Valorant.

Faulty software installation is one of the main problems behind this error.

  • Look for a file called Riot Vanguard then right click and select uninstall
  • Wait until the process is complete
  • After successfully uninstalling, download and install the latest version of Vanguard from the official Riot Games website.
  • Restart the computer and launch the game again but in administrator mode. How to right click the file then select – run as administrator
  • If the problem still appears, uninstall and uninstall the game again
  • If the error still occurs, your last solution is to contact Riot Support

Older versions of Windows (probably 8, 8.1, and 7) can also be the cause of the problem here; however, it was not confirmed by players facing this issue.
