Female Gamers Breaking Banks for the sake of the game!. A female gamer whose initials are YS 26 years old has been arrested by the ranks Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya.

YS was arrested for breaking into a bank of Rp 1.85 billion through online games, Mobile Legends.

“Where is the female suspect, YS, who does not work from Pontianak. He managed to break into a bank so that one of these banks suffered a loss of IDR 1.85 billion.” say Wadirreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Ade Ary Syam Indradi in Metro Jaya Police Headquartersin Jakarta, Saturday (18/5/2022).

Initially, the Polda Metro Jaya received a report from the bank who claimed to have experienced theft through an online game. Based on information from the bank, there were some odd transactions from one of the online game accounts Mobile Legends.

The Ditreskrimum team then conducted an investigation and collected a number of evidences for the theft. Finally, the team arrested YS‎ in the Pontianak area, West Kalimantan, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Ade Ary explained that YS had realized what he had done had harmed other parties. YS has purchased an item in Mobile Legends, but did not use his own money. YS used a cheat so that the money in his account didn’t decrease by a penny.

“So the bank has to pay Rp 1.85 billion. This work is not only done once but continues to be done many times,” he said.

“The suspect was aware and knew that he bought the item, but did not reduce the money. Based on the results of the examination, the perpetrator admitted that the money was only to buy the facilities in the Mobile Legends game,” added Ade.

For his actions, YS was charged Article 362 of the Criminal Code and or Article 85 of Law Number 3 of 2011 about the transfer of funds. And or Article 3, Article 4 and Article 5 Paragraph (1) Juncto Article 2 Paragraph (1) letter p and letter z of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering Money.‎
