Why Didn't Black Widow Get Her Own Funeral?
As we know, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow sacrificed her life to be able to get the Soul Stone to restore half the population that was previously wiped out by Thanos. Despite having sacrificed her life, Natasha did not receive her final respects at her funeral.
Even in the Black Widow solo film which has been released on July 9, 2022, let alone other superheroes, the funeral scene is not shown. Junebe there are some fans who are curious and ask why the funeral scene was not shown in the Black Widow movie.
Director Cate Shortland revealed the reason why she didn’t feature Natasha Romanoff’s funeral scene in the latest MCU film Black Widow.
Why No Burial For Black Widow?
Black Widow’s post-credits scene features the location of Natasha’s funeral after she sacrificed herself in Avengers: Endgame. Yelena (Florence Pugh) visits her sister’s grave with a tombstone that reads “Daughter, Sister, Avenger.”
In her latest interview, Cate Shortland said that there was no funeral scene for Black Widow because it was a request from its main actor, Scarlett Johansson.
“Scarlett told me that: Her character (Black Widow) doesn’t like being buried in public cemeteries. So the fact that Natasha Romanoff was buried in a secluded place in the middle of nowhere was perfect for her.
