Top 3 Square Enix Studios to Change Hands to Embracer Group
shocking news came from publisher Square Enix. Because recently they announced to sell their three major developer studios.
The studios offered are studios outside of Japan. These include Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal.
These developers are certainly not small studios because they have produced big games such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Marvel’s Avengers, Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy, etc.
What’s even more surprising is that Square Enix sold the three studios for $300 million or around Rp. 4.3 trillion. This value is considered quite cheap for a developer of that class.

The party that is said to be buying these three studios is the Embracer Group, a video game and media company from Sweden.
This company is the parent company of several game studios such as THQ Nordic, Gearbox Software, Saber Interactive, Koch Media, etc.
When it is officially acquired, Embracer will also get 50+ game titles from Square Enix including Marvel’s Avengers and Guardian of the Galaxy.
