Tenet Already Earned $300 Million at World Box Office

Director Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is slowly making progress at the box office. To date the film has collected nearly $300 million at the world box office.

Even though the box office is currently dominated by films that are sequels, reboots, and remakes, Christopher Nolan remains on his own path to making original films.

Tenet is Nolan’s latest work whose story is still very secret. John David Washington appears to be playing a government agent/spy character. He seems to have sacrificed his life on a mission to protect the world from destruction.

Nolan is one of those directors who can make original films that perform well at the box office. His original films such as Inception, Interstellar, and Dunkirk each earned over $500 million. And Tenet is also expected to be as successful as the three films or even surpass them.

However, due to the corona pandemic, the release of Tenet in theaters was forced to change and its earnings at the box office were also very difficult. Having been delayed several times, the Tenet film finally released at the end of August 2022.

Tenet’s earnings at the international box office are quite successful, but not with domestic revenues. Major markets like New York and Los Angeles still haven’t opened their theaters because they’re still unsafe.

Warner Bros. has released the latest box office figures for Tenet. The data shows that the film is close to crossing the $300 million mark at the worldwide box office, having grossed $19.2 million last weekend globally.

The film’s international box office total was $242 million, while the domestic box office was just $41.2 million. This brings Tenet’s combined total at the current box office to $283.2 million.

These results are certainly very far from the predictions of Nolan and WB at the beginning of 2022. But given the current situation, and with several cinemas still not opening, it’s certainly a big number.
