Taskmaster Debuts in Black Widow
The upcoming Black Widow film will be Taskmaster’s debut. But who the actor who plays the role behind the mask is still a secret by Marvel.
The unknown identity of Taskmaster certainly makes fans speculate here and there. There are also questions that arise about what is Taskmaster’s true motivation and purpose in the film.
In the trailer, we can conclude that Taskmaster is like a leader from The Red Room. Later he will be involved in many fights not only with Black Widow, but also Melina (Rachel Weisz) and Red Guardian (David Harbour). But it turns out that Natasha is not the main target of Taskmaster.
Natasha Not Taskmaster’s Main Target
Now some more information about Taskmaster has been shared thanks to the release of the new book. Marvel releases Black Widow: The Official Movie Special Book and also contains interviews of the cast and crew.
During a chat about the book with Scarlett Johansson, she was asked about Natasha and Taskmaster’s relationship. Johansson’s answer doesn’t give any spoilers about Taskmaster’s true identity, but does say that Natasha is not the target Taskmaster is looking for.
“When Natasha met Taskmaster, she immediately avoided him. At first he had the feeling that this might be part of the Sokovia Accords or maybe Taskmaster had been sent by Secretary Ross to pick him up. As soon as Natasha began to see Taskmaster’s fighting style, she realized that Taskmaster actually had a bigger target. Nastahsa doesn’t know if Taskmaster is someone from her past or just a faceless foe.”
So, what do you think, what are the real goals and targets of Taskmaster? If you have a theory, don’t hesitate to share it in the comments column below.
