James Gunn’s Suicide Squad which was released 2 weeks ago had topped the Box Office. Debuting in theaters on July 28, 2022, after three days of release, the film grossed $26 million. That makes them the second highest-grossing film on HBO MAX’s debut release after Mortal Kombat.

Of course, this income is quite high in the midst of the current pandemic. Usually, some big films can record more significant profits in their first week. Before the pandemic, DCEU films like Aquaman, Man of Steel could reach hundreds of millions of dollars in the first week.

The drop in profits from the sheer number of films currently out is understandable. This is because the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing. In fact, this makes Venom 2 delayed by Sony until October 2022.

Launching from Screenrant, Free Guy managed to become number one in the US Box Office after making a profit of $28 million in three days of release. The sizable profit at the beginning of the debut was beyond expectations. Previously, the film was only targeted to reach $ 15 million in its first three days.

The success of Free Guy is caused by several factors. The film had a spike last Saturday. The hype generated by Free Guy is indeed quite large. Exclusively, Free Guy will be screened 45 days in theaters.

This is very different from The Suicide Squad. In which, viewers can choose between watching it in theaters or via HBO Max at home. Cinemas in the near future will see several big films such as Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings, Venom 2, and No Tome No Die.
