Ben Affleck Returns as Batman in The Flash
Ben Affleck will return as Bruce Wayne aka Batman in The Flash. According to Variety, director Andy Muschietti has confirmed that the actor will be returning as Batman in a supporting role which will be an emotional lock for the upcoming film.
Ben Affleck was first cast as Batman in August 2013. He joined the DC Extended Universe as the Caped Crusader in the film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice directed by Zack Snyder.
Affleck then reprized his cameo role in Suicide Squad and another major role in Justice League. Even though he’s officially out of the DCEU as Batman, we’ll still see Affleck in Snyder Cut’s Justice League coming out on HBO Max next year.
Ben Affleck Will Appear in The Flash Film
And now the latest news is that Affleck will be in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash. But the return of Affleck will probably only occur in the film The Flash. Affleck has reportedly not signed on to appear in other films as Batman.
Muschietti did not confirm the extent of Affleck’s role in The Flash. But his statement above has made it clear that Batman will not only appear as a cameo. Especially when the director said that Batman would be an emotional part of this film.
Ben Affleck is not the only Batman who will appear in The Flash. Michael Keaton will also appear and play an important role in the upcoming film.
The Flash Exploration DC Multiverse
The film is based on the 2011 Flashpoint comics and is planned to feature various versions of The Flash from DC Comics. Now, because the upcoming film is a Flashpoint adaptation, fans will immediately predict that Barry Allen will have an adventure in alternate dimensions.
The journey certainly opens up to all possibilities. Barry might just meet Jay Garrick, Wally West or Bart Allen who is his own grandson.
Directed by Andy Muschietti with a script written by Christina Hodson, The Flash Starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen. The film is slated for release on June 3, 2022.
