Battle Angel Tops Box Office –

Alita: Battle Angel is a project that has been in the works for quite some time. We can finally see the film when it premieres in all theaters.

The audience seems to really like this film. Premiering on Thursday night, Alita: Battle Angel is at the top of the Box Office.

According to a report from Box Office Mojo, Alita: Battle Angel grossed an estimated $8.7 million from its Thursday night opening. Additionally when combined with its $35 million USD in other territories, the film grossed an estimated $44 million worldwide.

For its opening night, Alita: Battle Angel took the top spot and overtook Isn’t it Romantic, which grossed an estimated $4.4 million, and What Men Want, which grossed an estimated $3.2 million.

Initial projections for Alita: Battle Angel have set it up to be a box office trend, so hopefully this good trend can continue through the weekend.

The premiere was originally scheduled to premiere on July 20, 2022, and then December 21, 2022. Then Alita: Battle Angel is now slated for a June 14 premiere in the United States.

Alita: Battle Angel

Battle Angel Alita (otherwise known as GUNNM in Japan) was originally created by Yukito Kishiro for Shueisha’s Weekly Business in 1990. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic period and follows Alita, a cyborg who is found in a garbage heap by a doctor and rebuilt. .

Completely devoid of his memories, all he had to hold onto was the legendary cyborg martial art known as Panzer Kunst. With this knowledge, Alita decides to become a bounty hunter. The series has since been licensed for an English language release by Viz Media, and is compiled into nine volumes.

Alita: Battle Angel is directed by Robert Rodriguez, produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau. The film stars Rosa Salazar (as Alita), Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, and Jackie Earle Haley.
