How to Install a Favicon in WordPress Without a Plugin

A favicon is a icon or the main symbol seen on address bar websitee on browser and is a logo on website. Favicon also known as shortcut icon, Web site iconURL icon, or bookmark icon.

There are so many WordPress plugins that offer favicon, but actually we don’t need to use a plugin if we only want to display favicon on our website because using too many plugins in WordPess only makes website performance heavy. Here’s how to install a favicon in WordPress without a plugin.

How to Install a Favicon in WordPress Without a Plugin

1. Make an icon image of 512 pixels x 512 pixels in Photoshop, Corel Draw or software to make another image,

2. Go to the WordPress admin page.

3. Enter the menu Appearance – Customize – Site Identify.

Then Select File for upload picture.

4. Save & Publish.

To change favicon in WordPress version 4.2 and below

1. Enter the menu Appearance – Editor – Header (header.php).

2. Then put the following code:

Change link https://inwepo.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/faviconred.png with the image link of yours that has been upload to hosting.
