AetherSX2 Android PS2 Emulator Ready to Release, What are the Features?
Even though Sony has released the Playstation 5 (PS5), the interest of gamers to play games on the Playstation 2 (PS2) is still quite high. This is proven by the large number of PS2 emulators on Android. Call it the PSP Emulator, Damon PS2 Pro, golden PS2, Gold PS2 Emulator and AetherSX2 the Android PS2 emulator.
After long rumors of a release, it is reported that an emulator called AetherSX2 for PS2 will soon be on the floor on Android devices. Before continuing the discussion about AetherSX2, do you know what emulator is?
What are Emulators?
Emulator is software or software that is created to imitate or emulate the function of the original program. Emulators allow a piece of hardware on a different machine to work according to the original software.
But not infrequently the emulator actually works better than the original version by adding some new features. Emulators are generally not original programs created by game developers.
It’s an initiative from players who want to play old games like console games with new experiences. Although many existing emulators don’t get the blessing of the original game developers, in fact until now there are still many gamers who are trying to make imitations.
In fact, making an emulator is not an easy thing. It takes hard work and a lot of time to be able to create an emulator that can be used optimally on other devices. Even so with the development of the AetherSX2 PS2 emulator for Android, which reportedly takes a very long time.
Why Use Emulators?
As you know, generally a software or software is only made for certain devices. For example, PC-specific game software, console-specific software and Android-specific software. Where this software you will not be able to use on other devices.
Well, with the presence of an emulator, these limitations are no longer an obstacle for you to be able to use one software for multiple devices. Generally, emulators are mostly used by people just for nostalgia.
For example, playing old school games, such as PS2 games and other old PC games. With the emulator, you don’t need to play PS2 and PC games on console and PC devices anymore, but simply by downloading the emulator you can already play PS2 games on Mobile on the Android platform.
AetherSX2, PS2 Emulator for Android

Unfortunately, on his Youtube channel, Taki is still reluctant to divulge more detailed information regarding the AetherSX2 emulator. Taki Udon only said that later his emulator will come with interesting features, such as Controller Configuration where users will be able to use controllers from different consoles.
Then this emulator also supports Processor Snapdragon SoCs. Not only that, AetherSX2 was created on the basis of LGPL, later AetherSX2 can be used for free and can be accessed offline.
Taki added that, if AetherSX2 PS2 will come with more stable FPS performance because it uses the help of Underclocking EE Cycle Skip which can lighten the EE Cycle load / minute. Later, this FPS will be limited as the game progresses.
